Current Requirements
GSM Switching Design: Software designer for the development of functionality to support services and protocols needed for GSM and the 3G UMTS wireless networks. GSM is currently deployed throughout the world.
UMTS is the 3rd Generation wireless infrastructure supporting high bit rate bearer services with the notion of negotiated traffic and Quality of Service (QOS) characteristics. UMTS will allow networks to support single and multi-media IP and ISDN applications.
Responsibilities:
Design, document, develop, and verify software for the UMTS core network.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Programming experience with high level languages (C, C++, Pascal, PROTEL)
- Real time programming
Skills Required:
- Object oriented software development
- Object oriented languages
- Understanding of Voice over IP (VoIP) principles
- Knowledge of telecommunication protocol (ISDN, CCS7) desirable
- Knowledge of ATM (AAL1, AAL2, and AAL5) and IP protocols desirable
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Strong personal initiative
- Team Player personality
- Ability to adapt within a fast-paced dynamic team project
Education:
BS or MS in Computer Science.
BS or MS in Computer Engineering.
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on software skills.
