Current Requirements
Duration: Permanent
You will be required to perform installations and give technical support to users working on the following types of UNIX operating systems: AIX, HP-UX, etc. While a majority of the work is in Ontario, some traveling to the U.S.A. might also be involved.
Skills:
- Knowledge of UNIX SYSTEMS.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networks would be an asset.
Task Description:
- Install RISC/6000 systems, software & hardware(AIX, HP-UX, SunOS).
- Plan network configuration (TCP/IP, NFS, NIS).
- Give recommendations to Marketing & Sales Team regarding specific systems in terms of performance and functionality.
- Program certain applications: C, C Shell, Korn Shell in order to facilitate system use.
- Detect software and /or hardware problems related to workstations.
- On-site visits in order to perform maintenance tasks and /or upgrade existing systems.
